Not lately. Almost everything worth going after is now being protected with BINs and starting bids near full retail. I guess it used to be safer for people to put up quality stuff as a true auction than it is now, I don't know.

The coin category has now deteriorated to the point that I have stopped looking at it. It is nothing but an attempt to sell mostly second rate coins at full retail or more.

The rolls of OBW silver have all but dried up, and the ones that are being offered now are trending higher all the time.

There is still a trickle of PCGS certified bullion and it is following the market - some commands a premium, and some does not.

The other Mint stuff that I track doesn't seem to be particularly hot.

I continue to see stuff that ends on Sunday evening being a bit lower in final realized prices than I would expect, so if you are looking for a steal, buy at 9:00PM or later on Sunday evening - that would be my observation.

In general I'd agree the there is lots of ho-hum stuf at inflated prices, but now and again some good stuff shows up; this seller had lots of very nice coins that went for very strong money.

It's been a few weeks since I've made a purchase. eBay listing seem down quite a bit in the last few months. They need another 20c listing day to bring out the closet sellers.

about a month ago, I purchased a group of Unc and Proof-like Canadian Year sets.

I paid $700 for them and I sold everything for $2800.

I got lucky with a few coins. They certified very well (at ICCS)!!

imageOnly one so far. Gold $50 under spot, ended yesterday morning(bad timing) from a fairly new seller. Most coins are going for market, above, or are not selling.

No, they need to change their half-assed policies that are chasing away all the medium and small sellers...

That being said, I don't think it's just coins. Am seeing pitiful offerings in the stamp area as well.

I thought this Morgan just went for a decent price. Maybe because the title was incorrect.

And I thought this was reasonable, but not a steal.

I agree. I see a lot of gold offered with minimum bids starting at retail - even the cleaned, scratched, damaged and/or ex-jewelry raw gold. In June I did pick up two common date $2.50 Quarter Eagles in PCGS MS 62 holders (1853 and 1878). Both were true auctions ending mid week during business hours. Each sold for about $100 less than recent Teletrade or Heritage prices and without the buyers premium.

Lot of people that way. Some of my recurring modern auctions are selling at the low end of the range today but not rediculously low. --Jerry

I recently bought (as a BIN) a 2008 W PCGS PR69DCAM 1/4 oz Gold Eagle for less than I could buy it ungraded from the US Mint. I feel like that was a bargain. I almost broke down and bought it raw to send in for grading.
