No one got both of them right, and only nine people got one right. The concensus was that the coin on the right is the nicer of the two, and I very much agree. There is tremendously more detail in the vertical lines in the cotton bolls, and there's more inside detail to the eagle's upper right wing. It's examples like these two coins that explain why regrade submissions continue to happen.

Not sure these would be examples of re-grade, what is the price difference for a point or two difference here?
Kind of goofy especially in light of the fact that they were both part of the same submission based on their assigned numbers, so they would have been graded at the same time by the same grader. Makes you wonder what they saw that we don't or maybe got them switched. If the grades were reversed I would be in complete agreement. The 12 for the left coin is a complete gift. I'd call it an 8 but 10 is acceptable. The 10 for the right hand coin is a bit harsh and 12 would be better.

So much for the setup coin approach eh? Sure didn't work here.

That's for sure! Both of these coins were part of an all-1895-S regrade submission, with the one on the left being the setup coin for the one on the right. Both were graded VG10 at the time. I expected one of them to go up to F12... just not the one that did.

I'm sticking with VG8/VG10, I don't see a 12 for the coin on the left, IMHO.
