In your opinion....is there a market for a full Dansco 7070....

.....with above average coins or would most people want the enjoyment of filling one for themselves? I have not been in this hobby very long, but I have not seen any full ones for sale.

I have only seen a set for sale once. A few years back. The price was very expensive (around $10000) and the coins looked very nice in the album (VF-AU+). I think the seller still has the set. I do not think there is much a market for a completed 70/70 set. But it is a great way to collect raw type.

It would be a hard sale in my opinion. You would do better buy breaking it down. There is a set in a Ebay store now for 75k i believe.

I suppose for a really nice set there could be a market, but most people derive more enjoyment by filling it via the "thrill of the hunt," piece by piece.

A really nice set would probably be an easy seller to a dealer at the right price (so they can sell the pieces individually at full retail), but if someone is trying to sell a complete set for full retail, there's no profit in buying the set.

I agree. I have a 7070 and when it comes time to sell, it will be one coin at a time. Assuming you were to sell one on EBAY, what category(s) would you list it in to get most visibility? I think on a nice set, you would not have enough bidders that you might lose big. Where as if you sold them separately, you would have plenty of bidders looking for each coin........Just my opinion...........Rick

This set is pretty expensive but nice. (First time I saw it, the asking price was $100,000)
