The mint mark appears to grade higher than does the coin!!

This coin has to be legit because right in the sellers description is the proof:

"WOW! Complete your collection with this! Up for bid is my favorite penny. This coin has yet to be ungraded and as you can tell it will make a nice piece to finish off a set. Coin in photos is coin you will recieve. I had my buddy with light box take these photos for me so that you can see this coin close up. Hope you like it and good luck. Coin will be shipped USPS registered mail once payment has been received."

If the coin is yet to be ungraded, the grading company would have noted that it was a counterfeit

Yup. Looks too sharp for the wear on rest of the coin. Also, the mintmark's color appears a shade lighter than the rest of the coin. Even if the mintmark looked good, I wouldn't buy it or any other raw key date like this on eBay.

There are only 4 positions for a genuine mintmark on an SVDB. This is not one of them.

I just emailed the seller with a "heads up, might want to have this authenticated before selling"....

Got this reply very quickly;

Wow! You scared me ther for a minute. Here is what I did. I went to PCGS and copied picture of the coin they have listed for 09svdb. I took that photo into photoshop and laid my coin on top of it with about 85% opacity so that I could see through to their coin and the s lines up perfect. I did not see ANY misplacement of any features. If you know something that my help me please call me on my cell 336-420-xxxx tomorrow.

Can anyone superimpose the image of his coin over the pcgs image on their website and see if what
he wrote to me is accurate? I can't seem to find a way to do that and would like to see the results.
