Long time listener, first time caller.

I've always hated listening to talk radio and hearing that phrase. Non the less, I've been reading these forums for a while. I posted once, out of iritation (was an ebay thing). Hopefully that one rash post wont scar me for life.
I've always been a collector, and coins interested me even from an early age. I can remember back to being 8 or 9 years old looking at coins thinking that Buffalo Nickles were so cool and must be worth a vaste fortune. I recall my mother telling stories of me bring her coins I thought were old and her being upset that they were younger than she was. As I grew into an adult I tried collecting coins a few times, but always without sucess. After meeting the woman I would eventually marry I disovered that her grandfather collected coins. He had colleccted them for a few decades and I felt comfortableknowing him that I could share with him the few coins I had saved. Mostly my collection at the time consisted of Jefferson Nickles.
I had gone to Vegas when I was 16 years old with my Granbparents to shoot in an archery tournament. I never did do that well at archery, but while we were there I found myself abandoned with a pocket full of Nickles. I was sharing a room with my Uncle, out of the blue his girlfriend showed up and they kicked me out of the room. I was old enough to know why, but had been curiouse about the casinos to not make a fuss. On my way through the Casino I ended up running into some Nickel slot machines. I ended up putting in my nickels and ultimatly won about 300$ in Nickels. When I returned homewith all these Nickels my mother bought me a couple of Whitman Jefferson Nickel albums.
I was able to fill majority of the albums with my finds. To this day I still have those albums, though majority of the coins have been converted to a Dansco album.
The Nickels being the only coins I had ever saved where something that bonded my grandfather-in-law and myself and allowed him to introduce me into coin collecting. Until I had met him I had no concept of Grade or variety. to me a 1944-D Nickel was just that.
He has since past and i have gone through a phase of collecting Silver coins(didn't matter what type/mint/or date), of collecting half dollors, and even wheat ear pennies. Having those experiences has led me to collecting quarters. I have begun to collect Washington quarters specifically graded MS65 or better. I've always had a fondness of quarters. I always remember them being a valuable coin I could use for many things, when other coins were not as usefull.
I hope to meet many of you and spend quality time here.

Oh and Welcome.
<< <i>Great story, so how did you make it out of the casino with the loot as someone too young to gamble?
Oh and Welcome.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
