Quicker turn-around times on submissions and a higher level of customer service.

IMO, "First Strike," "Early Release," & similar designations are bogus and totally meaningless on modern bullion "coins." -Preussen

i think short term it will hurt the small collector, but maybe PCGS wants to get away from it (the FS label) and this is their first step.

over time the FS ER labels don't mean that much. it was probably "invented" for dealers in the first place to get more volume.

the mint sends it to memphis for them to package and distribute. it was pretty obvious from the 08/07 2008-W ASE, that those coins were NOT FIFO, from the fulfillment center.

That's what happens when you gamble on value created by the combined hubris of TPGs and ignorance of collectors.

    Little impact at all.

Collector's will probably save money in the long run since it is the collector's that establish acceptable prices. For me, it takes me out of the loop of paying $49 for a coin I can only sell at $34.95 on a good day.

The thing I will miss though is that I will no longer have the 'possibility' of getting an MS70 or PR70 for the $49 grading fee.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

The value of the boxes hasn't changed. My buy price is still the same as it was. Most of these sealed boxes have value for "freshness" but if the issue was hot enough that you thought to save boxes, then First Strike probably has little premium. I'll pay extra for FS eligable 2007 proof buffalos. What else is being considered? --Jerry
