For you Intellectual Property gurus, who owns the information and data posted to the Forums?

Does PCGS own said information and data? Or does the ownership of same remain with the person who posts same? Or does ownership of same immediately pass into the realm of the "public domain" where it is owned collectively by the "public"?

It belongs to you, but you just granted PCGS the right to use it forever without payment to you.
by submitting messages, information, data, text, files, links, artwork, photographs, software, or other materials ("Materials") to any of these Forums, you automatically grant (or warrant that the owner of such Materials has expressly granted) us the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, take excerpts from, incorporate into other works, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Materials (in whole or part), in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

If I post a photo from a dealer's website to this forum, does the right to use the photo get transferred to PCGS/CU? Does it make a difference whether this is done with expressed permission, general permission, or without permission?

You do not give up intellectual property rights by posting something online. It does not pass into the public domain. Intellectual property belongs
to the owner of the intellectual property... It can be used by others under certain circumstances (fair use), but the idea that just because you post
something in a forum, or online, that it passes into the public domain is total nonsense...
