Poll -- Head to head contest: Who wins the CU Coin Forum Sarcasm Contest

Hey Al . . . you never respond to my substantive threads (or even my lighter threads intended to create some controversy) -- check out those that I've started over the past 90 days. Maybe this one will catch your interest (or maybe not).

Where's the option, "Your limited ability to detect sarcastic wit has rendered this poll pointless?" image
  • IGWTIGWT Posts: 4,975
Maybe it's an unfair comparison. CCU cuts quick and clean in few words; RWB carves slowly with literary style. But answer anyway.

They are both good, but CCU's comments usually make me laugh harder.image

Shoot brother, that's just a poll for second place. She Who Shall Never Be Mentioned Again was the greatest.

...which of the two slices quicker and cleaner?

Is this in reference to the bologna in the other post....?

Curly, with that comment, you've also become entitled to an award for sarcastic wit.

Well, on my computer there is a book folder called "The Numismatist's Sarcastic Companion." If anyone wants to contribute, let me know....

OK -- IGWT is being nice -- I tend to be "wordy." Comes from holding hands with government and congressional types for too long.

I think you need a few more choices on your list; there are many equal or more sarcastic people on these boards than those two.

But since only RWB has contributed to this thread he wins by default

It's quite an honor just to be nominated.

Hey Al . . . you never respond to my substantive threads

if this is referring to me, the main reason i don't reply to your threads is that they tend to be about topics which i can't add to. rest assured that i read them.

CCU and I should be awarded an honorarium....or is that “a honorarium," or "an" aquarium?...or…never mind.

The "a" versus "an" debate has almost 80 posts. Apparently, you and CCU are far less interesting than indefinite articles, so I'm not sure that an honorarium is in order.
  • RWBRWB Posts: 8,082
OK....maybe just an "-arium, then, or "a" -arium, or....Well, you're right, there are a lot more interesting posts than this and I spent my last quarter at the NARA photocopy machine, anyway - some letter about how many 1909VDB proofs were sold on August 6, 1909 and a list of buyers with quantities so I can't even include a picture of my collection to liven things up. I guess the 1909 VDB is a true "indefinite article."

I do hope you did not break the "five minute" copying rule image

I'd hate to think my numismatic literature was prepared by a copying scofflaw image

    ...five minute copying rule...

This is a lot like the 30-second rule for the steak you drop on the kitchen floor.

No. I'm usually the one who waits until all the copiers are in use, then ask to make copies. That gives me maximum time since everyone else has to finish before me to comply with the rule - except the one lady who seems to be deaf and never hears the announcement and bell ringing "Five minute limit on the copiers. Five minutes starting now. Bring out your dead. Bring out your dead."

It's a tough choice and I tend to cheer for the underdog, even if I cast my vote the other way.
