Ok...so those of us that care know about Leroy Van Allen...but

I searched the forum for "Mallis" and there is only one thread....and that's not even relating to him!!! I read his bio on the back of the vam book but have never heard people say anything about him. It states that he began collecting as a 13 yr old in 1928....so if he is still alive(I have no idea) that would put him either 92 or 93. Can anyone tell me more about the "M" part of VAM???? As always...any info and response is appreciated!

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

<< <i>George Mallis passed away about 10 or 15 years ago. Leroy has been carrying on the work by himself since then. I can only imagine the number of packages that guy goes through on a daily basis. I guess that's why there's that one per month rule and the recent moratorium on new scribbling scratches varieties.
