(: Space Monkey's Templates: A step by step how to :) --> Updated with alternate ending

By popular demand I have written a step by step pictorial how to for using Space Monkey's coin reflection template.
Update 6/24/2008 - Added alternate method for steps 9-12. A little cleaner and more efficient.
It is posted on my photo forum here: Link to the step by step how to.
There are lots of pics so be patient.
Comments for improvements or to point out errors are welcome.
Here is the final product of the tutorial:

<< <i>Nice how-to. Are there difference between Mac and Windows? You may want to clarify what version you used, or maybe it was there and I missed it. >>
I'll add that I used the mac version at the beginning, the title says photoshop elements 6.0. I assume it is the same for mac and windows.
This I feel is faster and easier. At step 9 just merge layer one and two (highlight by holding ctrl while clicking) then go to layer>merge layers. Then in step 10 make a copy of the coin (Layer->duplicate) then pick transform and flip it verticle then use free transform to move it into position.

Do you then take duplicated flipped layer and merge it with the reflection layer?
I like that idea. It would be great if you could reply to the how to thread with the alternative.
Although if you are not registered I can do it and give you credit in the reply.

No I next just use overlay and am done with that.
Unless you are saving it as a .psd or something (I always save when I am done as .jpg) the layers all get merged anyway.
I dont need credit, use it if you want.

How does overlay work compared to merge? The biggest issue I have seen from folks is the reflection not being restricted to the semi circle and the merge was all I found that worked. Guess I'll have to try it.
