1921-D VAM 1L, question / observation

I have bought a few over the last couple of years. But have aleays wondered why The 1L was not so popular. Any insight would be appreciated. I picked this one up in an NGC 65 holder for grey sheet bid. Couldn't figure out why such a dramatic Vam went unnoticed.

I like it!!!! Can't give you an answer though....I dont see why many of the 21-D vams are not more popular with collectors!

I like it! That is a pretty significant die break. I just bought an unc 21-D 1P for the opening bid of $14.99, not bad for an R-6. Not sure why some go for big bucks and some don't.
MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

I have 3 or 4. Supply has outstripped demand in some 1921-D vam die breaks.

However, the supply is limited, so eventually prices will compensate.

I think the main reason that many go cheap is because they aren't noticed but by one or two VAMmers. The 21D coins have some pretty dramatic breaks. I've been able to pick a lot of them in AU and BU for around melt, including some R-6s.
