Yeah, and with our very own Musca!

    Read about it here

Kinda worked out alright, but then he came back and screwed over a lot of other members.

The buyer may be buying it as a gift for someone, but it's always better to be safe than sorry as the seller, especially on expensive items.

Last month. I sent an email for which I didn't get a reply stating it was unconfirmed but I'd shoot it out anyway if there were no objections. It was to a jewelery store so I felt O.K. about it. Tracking said it was received. Left them +feedback. They never bothered to leave any, but that's going to happen more nowadays. It was a $300 coin.

This would send my Spidey senses tingling more than ever with the new seller-unfriendly feedback rules, but in reality if it were a low-value item to someone with a solid history I'd probably do it. If it were a higher-ticket item or if something just didn't pass the smell test, no way. But it is easier to get negged with no recourse for that now.

For what it's worth: I've done this once before and you might consider contacting one or two of the other sellers. If I were on that list of other sellers I would have no problem giving you the lowdown on a buyer! Just an idea. image

Yes, once every month or two. usually it is innocent. Remember, innocent buyers don't think asking for alternate shipping is a mortal sin. But some are scammers and it's up to you to tell the difference. I once shipped a gold coin to a hotel to meet the purchaser at a distant wedding for a last minute wedding gift. I called it right and all were happy. Just don't get it wrong or else fail conservative while being polite. There is no need for a red frowny face. --jerry
