***4 nicely toned coins from Long Beach...lots of pics

All photos taken in regular old daylight, Seattle about 3PM (overcast at the time...what a shock!).
ZERO photo messing.

This Buff courtesy of Bruce Braga Rare Coins. He also had an unbelievable toned Kennedy, but I've been looking for a pretty Buff. This one has very nice luster, and distinctly different toning on the obverse versus reverse...which I always like. PCGS MS64

This IHC courtesy of Northeast Numismatics. The pics are pretty good, but I couldn't quite capture the true pop of the violet hues. A very bright coin with lots of flash. PCGS PR64RB

This Washie courtesy of Ray Hinkelman (Eye Appealing Coins). It was tough to image and daylight really doesn't do it justice. Under a halogen it just glows with an intense contrast between gun metal blue/aqua and vivid amber rims. But I didn't have a halogen, so this is what you get. This one just has a really wild look to it. PCGS MS65

This seated quarter also from Ray H. Another one that was tough for me to image, and I completely failed to capture the luster. I swear this thing has MS luster which makes the pastel colors jump...and there's significantly more blue/violet than I could capture. Oh well. It's very pleasing to look at and I think PQ for the grade...for what it's worth. PCGS AU55

Needless to say, my whole "strict Box of 20" resolution has gone up in smoke.

Sweet looking toners. I really like that indian cent. And a "box of twenty" is only a good idea until you get to twenty in my opinion. Then you just start on the next twenty. image

I used to own that 1947-S WQ and its previous life was spent in a PCI MS63 holder before the upgrade.

Those are nice coins with some nice toning.

The seller of the Buffalo Nickel, Bruce Braga is a nice guy with some interesting toned coins. His prices tend to be high sometimes though.

TomB, thanks, it's good to know some backstory.....given the date/mint, I really didn't care about the grade, just the pretty and unusual color. A 2 point upgrade is pretty unusual going to PCGS...did you submit it to PCI or did you buy it that way?

bestclser1, I know, but I'm trying to branch out these days...image...but I did see one monster rainbow Morgan (1882 PCGS 64) at DeFalco's table that I really, really wanted....but the 2K asking price was too rich for me at the time. But boy was it a special coin.

JSsson, I agree with you that Bruce is a nice guy and he put up with me fondling many of his coins. Needless to say, I paid waaay over sheet for my Buff....but I also don't think it is a sheet coin by any stretch so I was happy to do it.

I bought the coin in the PCI MS63 holder and sold it to a fellow forum member with the guarantee that it would upgrade to at least MS65 on crossover at PCGS on the first try, which it did.image
