1941 Washington DDR found.....

guitarwesguitarwes Posts: 9,290 ✭✭✭

Was looking through some 90% silver I bought over the weekend ($61.55 face) and come across this Doubled Eagle's beak on this Quarter. I looked over on CONECA and they list about 53 million different reverse doubling thingys which is frustrating.....so, you variety people please tell me if this is a sought after DDR or just another "neat find". I imaging the condition will hold this puppy down from funding my retirement........image

FS-25-1941-801 (013)....that's out of the Cherrypicker's Guide
CONECA 1-R-V

Thanks for looking.

Looks like he's sticking his tongue out! image

I am no expert by any means but this does look like the CPG coin!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Die #4 has some demand but not in low grades. They have to be AU or MS to have any significant value. All of the doubled beak varieties are suspected of being a working hub doubled die (hence the large number of very similar dies known) and are thus much more common than other doubled dies known from a single working die.

I have one of these in a PCGS holder, MS65. What would this be worth?

    Cool find Wes!

I REALLY need to learn to use the ZOOM on my camera. I found a 47-D PCGS certified Quarter with Major doubling on the Reverse. It's always a thrill to find stuff like this but I don't own any error literature or even a Cherrypicker's Guide.
