Just don't buy coins with crappy photos, and you'll never be even an accidental customer of his.

Because they sent out a blanket e-mail to every e-mail they have managed to capture saying so. Text is in the link to the other thread on this.

    my question is: why?

why did he feel the need to start a new ID? he was fleecing plenty under the old ID. were the negatives starting to roll in?

I think the old ID was banned. Notice how the new one has 0 feedback, it's not just a name change but a whole new account.

I looked up the old ID and it still had five coins listed under it, and the feedback wasn't that bad.

Wow with 98,000+ feedback why would they do a name change and then start over with 0? They should just change the name on the old account.

Unless of course they are not getting the 15% discount because of the new feedback structure. Too bad we can't see their dashboard. image

Russ- are those good or bad numbers for a Powerseller that wants to maximize discounts?

does that lead you to believe he is done with the Centsles account and starting over?

Those put him at the 5% discount level.

Edited to add: And, all exceed eBay wide averages.

I bought 3 coins from Centsles. All three were Numistrust whatever slabs. All were overgraded, but I bought the coin, not the slab. I paid an appropriate amount for each coin (under $25 each delivered). They were all 21 Morgans, one from each mint. (They were all MS63 or 64; the P ended up slabbing at ANACS at 63, the D at 58 and the S at 61, so I can't complain!) They also turned out to all be discovery coins for new VAMs! image

Perhaps as a joke. Birthday party for a collector born in 1929, take a piece of junk silver, modify it and present it as a joke. --jerry

Bumping this because I realized today that I had a bid in on a centles auction (a clipped foreign coin) right before the name switch. I was the lone bidder and about a day before it closed, I got a notice from eBay that the auction was cancelled for an unspecified TOS violation. I found the same coin this morning in a search listed by "world_coinz". I also received the email about the name change, but until I saw the auction this morning I did not connect all of the dots.

I'm thinking maybe he felt he was being unfairly targeted or his auctions wer being reported because of his reputation, and he'd rather start over from scratch than have to relist his items again and again. (BTW, I placed another bid on the new auction for that foreign clip, I've never personally had an issue with him as a seller).

I've "picked" a hand-full of pieces from him and never had a problem. Yo, you don't really think that the MS67 will cross, do you?

Sent World Coinz an email asking whether they were "Centsles"

    Here is the response:

    "Dear shmort6552,

Centsles has hired us to list some of their items. The service will be the same. Thank you.

Below is a copy of the email I sent to Ebay about the auction by World_coinz

"Topics > eBay Policies > Rules for Sellers > Listing Policies for Sellers > Selling Coins Item number(s): 270244554894270244556607270244555025

Message: These, as well as several hundred other auctions are listed showing non-authorized slabs and claim that they meedt a specific grade and quality, which can only be claimed by certain auctions selling coins from authorized grading companies. This seller is also claiming to have been hired by another seller, "Centsles" which is clearly a way to try and avoid receiving more attention with your new, stricter policies.

It is these type of sellers which cause confusion among buyers and when the coins are purchased, there are many complaints. The auctions are also showing full pictures of the non-authorized slab with the company name, grade etc clearly shown. Please lets keep trying to get these inferior coins out of this part of ebay.

    Thanks Bruce
