Why is there Less traffic on my ebay auctions

I've talked to a lot of people lately that all say the same thing, "My items don't get as many views now as they did before the feedback change." One possible reason is the way ebay returns search results, now they are based on your Detailed Seller Ratings.

From ebay "The better your Search standing, the higher your listings may appear in Best Match search results."......this came with the new feedback.

they fail to mention that the lower your search standing, the lower your listings may appear in Best Match search results.

Your Search standing is determined by your Detailed seller ratings.

The bottom line: ebay will place the items of power sellers with higher ratings in front of everything else.
I don't know about you but when I'm searching for items, I don't want to be force fed a certain seller.

Alan

I want to know which auctions are ending first and I don't want to have to change settings every time to get it to show that way image

On the top right of the listings, click " customize display " and you can set your search preferances easily, to ending soonest, display feedback, listings per page, etc etc etc.
While I have had no trouble with the new ebay system, I'll trying out CoinZip as well. Thanks Alan for a a great chance at an alternative. Been dragging my feet to long.

eBay's current management team is making a lot of big mistakes. The "best match" bit is a good example because I don't think most eBay buyers know how to override it and get "ending first."

Small sellers such as myself, who may go for several weeks without running any auctions, are feeling unwanted.

No doubt about it. I think when it was first created, eBay was primarily for ordinary folks to find a "market" for stuff they didn't need any more, and maybe get a few bucks for instead of giving away or throwing out.

These were the type of transactions that eBay grew on, but once they grew they no longer cared much for these types of transactions. They want big-time sellers running virtual storefronts on a for-profit basis. Nothing wrong with that per se, as it's a business decision, but it is pretty clear that it's morphing into a virtual storefront rather than a swap meet between individuals who aren't in business.

Best Match blows chunks. It's poorly written, buggy crap that doesn't work.

eBay propaganda. If a seller with lousy feedback and lousy DSR's offers free shipping they appear higher in search than excellent sellers who charge for shipping. It can also be gamed with strategic keywords. It will also return different results on the same search on different days. Garbage in from garbage coders.

That said, it has practically zero impact in the various collectibles categories. Collectors seem to be smart enough to click the dropdown and choose the way they want to search. The sellers getting killed are those handling widgets that can be picked up at Walmart.

That's true, but I'm seeing an earlier than usual and more dramatic slowdown. The economy? New feedback system? I don't know.

Maybe it's just that summer is fast approaching and people are buying plane tickets instead of coins? i.e. the slow part of the selling season.

Feebay had a work area were you could fine tune your auction titles for Best Match. They took it down when they realized how it was being used.

Being a powerseller has nothing to do with it. It only has to do with your detailed ratings.

Do honest business and you can get the best results. I don't see how this is an issue. In many instances, I actually am doing better than I used to.
