2008 Topps Series 2....

Picked up some packs tonight at Target. Nice inserts. I think it's funny though that there are 10% off coupons for FatHead in them. Anyone else pick some up?

I opened about 15 packs of hobby. Got three fathead cards, also some code cards. The one thing that was odd is that I got a Torii
Hunter trading card history card with Japanese writing on it. Anyone else pull one?

Yeah, Kevin, I got one of those Japanese Torii Hunter cards. Not sure, did he spend some time in Japan? I got a box today and need to sort and whatnot. Nothing special, kind of lame gold cards and a Thome GU. No blacks this time.

Seems like there was more juice in the jumbos but my dealer had them sold before he even got em..dang...still a nice rip
    for cheap.

it is pretty conveniently located image

just finished cracking the first box - pretty happy with it

First Ichiro GU I've pulled and not sure if this redemption is anutograph or not but it's pretty cool that it can now be done online like UD.

The jason Jennings card is kind of chomeish and is #61 of 99 on the back and the Ortiz is # to 999

no dupes and about 25 cards short of the set. pretty nice colation

Yeah, the Toppstown thing is kinda cool. Obviously aimed at kids but still fun the mess around with.
Having a problem with it accepting the gold cards though.

Haven't noticed a Jay Bruce yet through 2 boxes.

here are the highlights from box 2:

pack says the odds in the silk collection are 1 in 300. pretty cool, nothing on the back. all # to 50 I think.

Jay Bruce was called up a day before Series 2 was released. I highly doubt Topps could recall the entire production run, create a new Bruce card, remove millions of cards from their packaging, recollate the entire production run, repackage the entire production run, and get them to distributors, all in the span of 24 hours

Although I'd be extremely impressed if they could pull that off

pretty sure he would have been satisfied with a yes or no answer

Wouldn't surprise me if he's one of the Red Hot Rookie Redemptions though. The 2 I redeemed says expected ship date of 11/02

Hey Frodo, check out the link below and you will see why I asked those who had ripped some packs if he was included.

The silk card are somewhat new. They were a late addition to 2007 Topps turkey read. Since then I have been trying to get my hands on the TTR silk cards, they sell for a premium.
