Haven't seen any "Dino-lite" images for awhile...you guys still using them?

BochimanBochiman Posts: 25,605 ✭✭✭✭✭
I am still thinking of picking one up as I save up for one image but haven't seen anyone post any pictures from them lately.....

I would like to find a local place to get one (just in case I get a bad one and need to replace it, or something) or a cheaper place online.
There is an ebay seller who always puts up 100 at a time (multiple auctions) but when I go to their online store, they don't sell it any cheaper (if it were me, I would give 5% off, or something, on my own website rather than pay the ebay fees, if I could).

So, give some coin shots as you all have had the goods for awhile now and should be able to do some killer coin shots with them image

I still use mine, and still happy with it.
I'm not sure where to purchase one though. I'm lucky the distributer lives within
a few miles from my home.

But, Stefanie, will they give you a discount for living that close? image
The best I find the 411st (w/ stand) is $399.95 (PCGears).....I keep hoping a local (FRY's) store will stock them for that price, or less.......no luck so far.

That looks like an amazing doubled die. What is this a picture of, and where can I find one?

It is a token. Its the "MA" in Main. Also the "I" but I did not image that.

I think mine is a 311. I got the stand and it is a necessary accessory. Kind of wish I had bought a diffuser but have learned to live with out it.

It is an extreemly handy gizmo. I can set the coin up, adjust the light and photo and focus, and have an acceptable photo in pretty short order. Here's a couple of shots...

    I love mine... lots!

It works great looking for DDO, DDR, RPMs, etc.

    You can't have mine.

I have not used mine in a month or two.

After seeing Brandon using his I did not realize you can order them with the light diffuser. Mine just has the built in lights with no diffuser.

It's on loan right now so can't play with it even if I wanted too. image

What is this "diffuser" thingie you guys are talking about?

I am thinking that if I spend the money, I may as well get the am411st w/ stand.
I see that for $399.95 + $10 shipping all day long on ebay.

Steve, thanks for that link. I can't tell the model but I think it is the 311.

Basically it's a white piece of plastic that goes over the led lights in the device.

Same time, It came with Brandons but not mine. We both have the 1280 pixel model but his is slightly different in paint color and has the plastic ring built in where mine is just bare lights.

You might want to call Brandon to find out his exact model number to see the difference online.

Yes, the trick is making a stand that is sturdy enough to adjust the focus without moving the Dino.
