How much is a disgusting example of a rare coin worth?
The answer lies here, inside another entertaining and informative CRO Road Report. Enjoy.
If you do not care to read the report and just want to know the answer to the question in the title, it is $6900.
Apologies to fc for the possible misuse of the word "rare". In my defense, there are thirty graded total at PCGS, distributed among the six major varieties.

<< <i>Will the numismatic unwashed call for RYK's head the same way they wanted Longacre's on a pike when L referenced a dealer's website last week?
There are two major differences:
1. I did not make mention of any sale of coins, just an informative and entertaining article.
2. I hardly ever refer to fellow forumites as "the numismatic unwashed" (in public, anyway

No, we think that RYK is funny and informative.

Actually, there is only one example at NGC. PCGS dominates the colonial coin grading market. I would not be concerned about the other grading cos having a lot of examples, either, but who knows how many raw ones are out there?
Here's your link.

Variety: it is the very spice of life.
I especially enjoyed the Wnuck gag.

You must have been hitting the refresh button every few seconds. I checked a short while ago, and Day III hadn't yet been posted. Funny joke on Dave . . . I wonder who was calling the Superior auction?
Crazy crazy stuff. Some people are nuts.
I particulary like this one:
"Lot #3908, the 1937 3-Legged Buffalo in MS63 PCGS, sold for a not-unexpected $4,025. What was more interesting to us is that the previous lot, another 1937 3-Legged Buffalo in another PCGS MS63 holder, sold for $18,400. And while the respective prices were vastly different, the difference in quality of the two coins might have been even more so. So put that in your price guide and smoke it (but not in my hotel room, since they told me at check-in that there would be a $300 fine assessed if I smoked in the room)."
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

Those coin dealers are too much. You should see what the lawyers do when they get together for a convention. I am sure the AMA convention is full of gags and assorted tomfoolery, too.
