eBay buyer to block

JoeLewisJoeLewis Posts: 1,913 ✭✭✭✭
This guy reversed his Paypal payment after I sent him the coins. He kept giving me the stories, and I stupidly believed him. Well, too much time has past and I'm not getting my money back. Today, I called him (yeah, the idiot gave me his phone number) and he pretended to be somebody else (I'm 100% sure it was him.) I'm fairly certain he has done this before (although he's still got 100% feedback.) I got an email from a couple other sellers going through the same thing with him.

Anyway, set your block rays for this guy: ascrappy

He's got another ebay handle (unfortunataly I don't know it) but if you receive a Paypal payment from Roger Barber from Gurnee, IL DO NOT send out your coins!

How long ago was this auction? He doesn't show any items won in the last 30 days, and doesn't have any feedback since February.

  • Does ebay give you seller protection?

It is always a question of knowing and seeing, and not that of believing.

Our virtues, and our failings are inseparable, like force, and matter. When they separate, man is no more.

I didn't know you could reverse a PayPal payment. That doesn't make much sense.

Or do you mean he did a chargeback against the credit card he used with PayPal?

What can I say? I'm gullible and trusting. He kept me strung along for four months! I feel like such an idiot. His stories seemed so honest. He only got me for $88, so I wanted to warn everyone else before he gets them for much more.

This was over $88. That's just not enough to constitute hiring a lawyer or anything. I guess that's how he gets away with it.

With ebay's new policies and with paypal chargeback scams like this proliferating, I wonder how long it will take ebay to start addressing the new situation.

To me, it does seem as if ebay is party to the fraud.
