New Ebay feedback just stupid and ridiculous!!!!

ManorcourtmanManorcourtman Posts: 8,420 ✭✭✭✭✭
So I went from a 99.9% to 99.6% positive because some wack-job left me a neutral a few months ago. That just ain't right!! The loser bought a NCS graded coin from me and he claimed I didn't say it was a cleaned coin. Not only did I say it in the description but I showed multiple pics of the dam slab. This really pisses me off. What a crock of sheet. 5+ years of selling and they punish you for f-ing jerks random and inaccurate rambling. That's just dam stupid!!!

There will always be those that you cannot please.

The days of everyone having 100% are gone, I think because of this anything over 95-96% will be considered good.

I also have 2 negs from 2 chumps that ripped me off in 2002-3, none since. But this neutral BS is just plain BS. I guess I need to grow some thicker skin. eBay is not for everyone I guessimage Just trying to point out their ridiculous new policy.

I just looked, and my feedback jumped up 20 points today, so I can't complain. I didn't even know they were doing that today.

I went from 100% to 100%. Looks right to me. Unfortunately you can't please everyone, and not it probably won't take much to have people leave neutral or negatives.

"Buyers can only receive positve feedback"

Now that will be odd, virtually every buyer if they get a new eBay alias will be "perfect"

If you respond to the wackos in your feedback I think most people will read it and take that into account - I know I do.

i do not mind the new ebay feedback system due to the fact as a
seller i leave positive feedback as soon as i get payment.

then it is totally up to the buyer to neg, neutral, pos me as they see
fit without them fearing feedback retaliation.

    100% so far!

post edited to clear up I switching buyer and seller around mistakenly.

Oh yeah, only a 1 year sentence for negative feedback. For the volume you do that's pretty good.

I kinda disagree with that since I do read some of the goofy transactions that occur here on these forums.

I have learned, especially from these forums, that unless you are a communications major with a degree in psychology, it is virtually impossible to write an eBay auction that some twit will not misread! Like the dude the other day that interpreted "pristine" to mean "MS70"! Even though the spots this guys was wretchiong over could be seen ion the sellers photot's, his buyer didn;t like what he bought.

I do not have a problem with folks returning stuff and even have a no questions asked return policy, but from what I've viewed on these forums, a lot of good sellers are gonna get gut punched when they least expect it!

Sure some of the bad blood is gonna suffer but they are not going to be alone.

IMO, this policy is just one more in a series that will someday take eBay out of the top spot in the Internet Arena. I still use them solely because of convenience but if something else comes along with lower fee's and sensible policies, I'll be gone.

Yes, the new policy is stupid and I ain;t afraid to say so.

This morning when I woke up I was a perfect 100%.....this afternoon I'm just another Powerscrewer POS with a less the perfect ebay life..................

This new ebay system may be for the best down the road or whatever.......I don't care...........
What they just did was like being pulled over by a cop 6 months ago and getting tested for DUI, and passing with flying colors.....sorry sir have a nice evening...............................
then coming to my house 6 months later and arresting me for the DUI from 6 months ago...................if a NEUTRAL was not counted as feedback 6 months ago as per there policy, then "said" neutral should not be counted today.

If the policy changed, which it has now then it should start now....

If ebay were not such a monopoly with a lot of $$$$ they would be out of business ,just for being stupid...I'm done thanks, I have to go list some more stuff on the monopoly...

Not likely. Most of the difficult buyers are not also sellers. If they were, they might have a different perspective.

Went from 99.8 to 100%...good thing, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Any buyer who wants to blackmail a seller has nothing to worry about if they do it after the sale has been completed.

Guess we can always talk about the retailitory neg we would have given in the positive commentimage

In the past the sellers could hold your feedback hastage. That is now gone. There are more than one less than honest seller out there. My wife was ripped off my one, and the threat of if you leave me a neg I will leave you one is gone. She had another one where some seller didn't ship her product for about a month after her check cleared. My wife left a neg on her account and they left one for her. That is just wrong.

Ebay may think that some potential bidders will not bid or at least not bid high if they can get a negative feedback. With this option now removed the bidder can bid away with almost no recourse for irresponsible bidding. The three stikes rule is not enough. Ebay is wrong once again. Time to bring back the classic coke.
Sorry ebay, It is not the economy, it is not the conservatives, it is not the liberals--It is your ever twisted winding view of a professional business model. Ebay will have to evolve or unevolve in this case to remain a viable business entity or join the ranks of MCI and Enron. Chapter 11 (or 13 or whatever the case may be) and recievership coming in short order. image
