Bummer! Looks like we already has a casualty from the new feedback policy!

RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
Poor girl had to make her feedback private.

Which means, of course, that she can't scam uh, I mean, sell.

Sounds like this new feedback policy has some merrit.

What is the new feedback policy?

Two main features are that neuts are now factored in to feedback percentage, and sellers can no longer leave negs or neuts for buyers.

How do you know it was not private before the rating system?

Who in their right mind would buy from a seller with private feedback?

i do not have a problem with private feedback... i can see in some
cases it could be used to protect the buyers privacy and not the
    seller's?

also 100% feedback but private is not so bad is it?

for example, what if the seller was selling something that the buyer
would want to be private... like a high end coin? think 10,000+

    just playing devil's advocate.

Good question. It will be interesting to see if the subject of this post is able to continue. Seller recd one neg and went private. Also, nothing is listed for sale. I do not follow her closely but perhaps she is simply going to go to an alt.

I think this is new, but I am not sure, from EBAY:

But it's the same feedback as yesterday, which was there for all to see and read.

I mean, nothing changed there ??

The percentage number went in the toilet.

When leaving feedback for a seller you get this:

    Important changes to Feedback
Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.

You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings

Yep, all those negative neutrals now effect that percentage.

I see that a certain photoshopped Morgan dollar seller (initials 'mm') is now at 99.8...

If I looked at this persons feedback and ratings, I would not be bothered much. Yes some neutrals, but the ratings are pretty darn good for a sleazball, in fact I think they are pretty good for a decent seller.

    Going private would concern me.

I don't think the problem lies with the bidder on this one. Ever hear of the Savannah Scammer?

According to the ebay rules, you cannot be a seller with private feedback. I wonder what the poor girl is going to do...

image Maybe use another new eBay name and sell a lot of junk and sprinkle in a few phony items now and then so that a few negs won't hurt her.

Interesting how negs and neutrals are now equivalent in calculating the feedback score. eBay has changed the dictionary definition of the word "neutral." Since a neutral is now the same as a neg, why have both?
  • SilverstateSilverstate Posts: 1,537 ✭✭✭
It is nice that the negs you might have received from a stupid buyer years ago, doesn't affect your score!

Hmmmm....he seems to leave positive feedback as well. I don't think the buyer is unreasonable, from what I have seen, and I won't be blocking him.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

It is also nice for the stupid or deadbeat buyers that their well deserved negs are now lost.
