Got grades from across the street

I got the grade on the German 1910D 25 pfennig proof that completes my setimage Since it is only the second one that I know of, it didn't matter what it graded. The German 1938J 50 pfennig proof is Steve's (Preussen) and he bought it in the Ponterio auction at CICF.

001 1910D GERMANY 25P PF 63 CAMEO
002 1930G GERMANY GRAF ZEPPELIN 3M MS 64
003 1938J GERMANY THIRD REICH 50P PF 65 CAMEO
004 1912 EB RUSSIA Y-59.3 ROUBLE MS 65

3Mark

    D:

I think you might be rightimage I thought the Zepp was much better than a 64image Ron called the rouble a 65 at the show though and I thought that it might have a shotimage Now I need to start on something else.

Nice score on the Rouble, as well. It's the design with "1" in a star on the obverse, correct? Those are tough in high unc grades. image

Roman, you don't want to know how much money he'll make on that rouble. He would have made even more if it was a PCGS 65, so let this be a lesson for him. image

Only had a economy (Dirk and I) going to PCGS and I kidda knew that Ron knew what I paid for the Rouble and there was no way to slide her in on economy. Got the Rouble from Philip Kapaan.

Whoops, disregard my question about the "1" - for whatever reason I read 1922 and thought you had the RSFSR Rouble. Still a gret score, though!

Congrats on the grades Larry. That rouble should bring silly money in that grade. image

Congrats on completing the set, Larry. I doubt that many members truly appreciate the difficulty of your accomplishment. You mentioned knowing of another example of the 1910-D, but what you didn't say is that it resides in a German museum (or was it a German Bank collection?) and will likely never enter the market.

As for the 1938J GERMANY THIRD REICH 50P PF 65 CAMEO, all I can say is image -Preussen
"Illegitimis non carborundum" -General Joseph Stilwell. See my auctions
