Wow, those little red dots brought back memories..

Not sure where it came from but I had this one when I was a kid and played with it in the 80's.

That was the exact same thing as the Coleco version, just had Sears on it instead.

love seeing the stuff I had as a kid and would have probably never thought about or seen again.

thanks for all the great pics guys. Think I had just about everything posted at one time or another except that 2-XL dude. I remember him but never had one.

Speaking of old Nintendo games, did anyone play SNK Baseball. It was by far the best baseball game I have played before or since. You could create teams and power each player up by winning games. We used to play that in high school and college. I had a friend who had a team of poets. We played a tournament and his #9 batter, Emily Dickenson, hit a game winning homer in the bottom of the 9th. I used to have a team called the Mayberry 9. Here was the lineup.
    1B Gomer-power hitter #$3 in lineup
    2B Goober
    3B Barney
    SS Thelma Lou
    LF Asa (The bank guard)
    CF Opie
    RF Helen
    SLP Floyd
    SRP Andy
    RP Aunt Bea

I know it was pretty lame, but I was and still am a big Andy Griffith fan.

Ice Hockey ran a close second.

If any of you remember this game, you could have a pitcher "warm up" in the Penn- they showed him in a little box and if you left him in there too long it would show him all tired out image You have to remember to appreaciate it!

I didn't read beyond the first few posts but do you realize Target still sells those? I had the early version and when that broke, I saw that Target still has the football and baseball versions.

It was Baseball Stars. It was the best NES baseball game. Ihad a team once that I let play a computer vs computer game against the main computer team. It ended in the 3rd inning when I scored my 100th run of the game. Final official score was 99-98. My #4 Hitter had 43 RBI and 17 Homeruns in one game and in just 3 innings. We tried for 3 years to repeat those results and never could get it.

Then there was Bases Loaded. I remember you could alway take the best player on the game out of it by beaning him in the first inning. He would always charge the mound.

So I guess it is safe to assume that was your first computer hacking experience image
  • Just like games today there are always cheats and exploits.

Baseball Stars had one. When you created your team you did a series of moves on the controller and it would ask "When it is?" You change it to "when it isn't?" You were given a super team to start with.

Take Mike Tyson's Punchout and type in the code 007-373-5963 takes you straight to Tyson( I know of no cheat to beat him) I can beat him though about 70% of the time I fight him.

There are so many then ther was the Game Genie.. BTW I still have a working NES hooked up in the spare bedroom along with several other old systems that still work. The NES is my fave though.
