2006 Anniversary Set Question
As I continue to learn the ropes and hunt for some decent investments, I could use the advise from the elders here on this ebay auction.
Knowing what they could be worth after I submit them for grading, would any of you consider this a good price ? Or am I not seeing something
that I should, and just pass on this one ? Thanks in advance

You get more for your investment, the grading standard for the SAE is the same at both company's. Both use 5x magnification to determine if the coin is flawed...
see...
PCGS adopted NGC criteria for the SAE. Look..
What is a 70? NGC defines a Mint State or Proof 70 coin as having no post-production imperfections at 5x magnifications.
Effective June 28, 2007, PCGS began grading Mint State Silver American Eagles for the years 2006 and 2007 based on their condition at the time of grading, without regard to the probability of future spotting. In the past, PCGS was reluctant to grade any Silver Eagles MS-70 because of the significant possibility of future milk-spotting on the surfaces of the metal, which often seem to appear after the coins are minted and even after they have been graded. While milk spots are still an issue for Silver Eagles, the quality of the 2006 and 2007 Silver American Eagles is fantastic and the coins merit consideration at the top grade of MS-70 (the PCGS grading standard for MS-70 requires “flawless surfaces under 5x magnification”).
I have found power in the mysteries of thought.
It is always a question of knowing and seeing, and not that of believing.
Our virtues, and our failings are inseparable, like force, and matter. When they separate, man is no more.

<< <i>The only coin worth saving is the reverse proof, just buy one in a NGC 70.. >>
The Anniversary 2006 W unc 70 is selling just a few dollars under the RP and with all the attention on SAE's now this will be a very collectable an in demand set. You can always get a RP graded with the special label but the Unc. has to come from a mint sealed set.
Kicking myself for missing out on the 08/07 W-Silver Eagles.
I don't know about the unopened boxes of multiple sets, but the first week in May, 14 eBay auctions of the 3-coin set in original display packaging averaged $335 including shipping, ranging from $290 to $413 each before adding shipping.
Shameless plug for my BST listing
<< <i>You also can't get the anniversary label because the box has been opened. >>
The reverse proof can still get the label but not the others.

The Unc with a special label doesn't mean anything to me, because I bought my sets from the Mint primarily for the RP. The RPs will always be RPs whether or not they have a special label.
As far as buying a raw or ungraded set on ebay - there is no way in God's Creation that any of those coins will be 70s, because they have already been carefully screened by the seller and are being liquidated so that the seller can start fresh on the next new issue from the Mint.
The only raw sets that I know of which stand a chance of grading out are mine, because I have yet to screen them.
If I were in your shoes, I'd just buy an already-graded RP at the going rate, unless for some reason I wanted the 3-coin set in the Presentation Case.
I knew it would happen.

Hi CSMVanguard -- I think you might be referring to me. I did send you a message previously by this system, but I don't know if you've gotten it.
Can you contact me via the private message feature of this forum? Have you clicked on the area where it says "new message" in the middle-upper-left of the screen?
Perhaps you tried to contact me, but instead of replying to my mail, you replied to this thread?

Keep the set intact, vacuum seal the coins in the capsule, and let em mature.
