The euro vs. dollar just hit 160. Is there a US coin series that benefits more than another.........
.........as this happens, or are there gains across the board. Any thoughts?---------------------------------BigE

On certain things there are lots of differences between the US. The already mentioned gas prices is one difference. It has been steadily going up over the last few years, and has stayed at about the same level relatively to the US gas prices. The main reason why it is much more expensive are all the different national and european taxes to "safe the the earth".

<< <i>Well living in Germany for almost 6 years, I have no idea why the Euro has went up so much since October. I mean the economy is as bad or worse than it was 6 years ago when the Euro came out. Taxes are plentiful here compared to the US. I mean people are paying $9 a gallon for gas, and they say the dollar is weak. This whole thing went down because of the US banks were in a crisis. It has mirrored the fact that 80 percent or more rent home because an average home in Germany is $300,000 plus for a pretty small house with no land. That is true in almost all of Europe. Basically the system is set up to get by and thats about it. The select few that are rich are rich, but most are not. But the US is heading this way with high gas and most people renting. I do not like this, but its inevitable. I feel 100 percent that the Euro is at best 40-50 cents inflated, and many people feel this way. But the market may correct itself, but looks like 09 going into 10 because any changes occur. It sucks for everyone I know. I feel the pain believe me, getting paid in dollars I have taken a 50% hit as of late, glad my wife makes the Euros. Just a little insight from Germany, would like to hear other people in other European countries to say how's it going. >>
Socialism's great isn't it? Most Americans are whining and snivelling for more and more of it while calling people like Ron Paul's ideas "kooky".
Here's why he lost in the Fla primary which is a small shot of how smart people are in the whole country

Not that the american things are perfect, far from that but certain things are better than european laws et al.

<< <i>The Euro is seriously in a bubble. They have many of the same systemic problems as there are in the U.S.; they just aren't (yet) lowering interest rates in order to try to keep the economy going. >>
Euro is in bubble that will surely burst. The demographics for their population and entitlement programs dwarfs any issues that the US must deal with regarding it own social programs and economy.
SHUSSS!!!! Dont tell those who want to bash the dollar at every opportunity.
