What do you think the only known complete set of U.S. Mint Experimental Rinse Sacagawea Dollars would bring at auction if sold as a conplete set?
The 2000 P coins have an estimated mintage of 10 or less pieces. I have only seen two coins, both of which I owned. I believe that Mike Byers owned a 2000 P at one time but his coin may be the one that is know in my set. Check out the photos on Smalldollars.com- same coin??? The coin in my current set is a PCGS MS65.
The 2001 P is much more common in all grades with a mintage of close to 1000 pieces. Most coins seem to be in the 63-66 range with very few in MS67. The coin in my set is a PCGS MS66.

Lastly, the 2006 D is the only one known for the date, pop one. A fellow board member here descovered the coin in early 2006, in an original US Mint roll. The coin was examined by error specialist, Fred Weinberg who agreed that it was in fact an experimental rinse. It has never been publicly auctioned but has resided in the Lothlorien Collection of Sacagawea Dollar. It is graded PCGS MS65.

So what do you think these would realize if it was sold at any of the major auction companies including Ebay.
Thanks everyone.

<< <i>Griv, the set is currently unavailable for sale. I am only trying to get a feel for the market and bring awareness to these rare coins. >>
some would call it marketing before the sale ;-)
i said 2000-5000.
A MS67 just sold for $319 on Ebay in 2006 MS66's where bringing close to $500.
IMHO your 2006-D is very neat and may carry the set?
Poor Sackie.... Its like a planned execution of one of the most appealing coins of recent years. Too bad....
On a happier note, maybe there will be a new experimental rinse, for 2008, do to all of this confusion.
With that said, I’m still willing to take them off your hands but only because I like you.
<< <i>Broadstruck: I honestly am still in the dark about the Sac Dollar mess that The Mint has started. My interpretation is that the Sac Dollar will be struck with the original design this year (2008) only. After that, the design will change and next year (2009) the new Native American reverses will start appearing on the Sac.

I would wait till then as then there will be re-born interest in the SAC design... as honestly it's a much more attractive design then these Presidential $1.
The Monroe $1 obverse looks just like a Irish Setter to me... Woof Woof!
