I believe that Lexington is just North of Columbia off of I-20.

Don't know anything about any of these, but you can call.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

  • Don't know about the coin shops in and around Columbia, but what I do know is the weather in July and August in that area. It is miserable, miserable, miserable to say the least! The humidity hangs like a smoky haze over the area. I know from experience as I live up in the foothills, from Columbia, which is supposed to be cooler (it isn't). Columbia, in the summertime, tends to catch and hold on to the heat and humidity for weeks at a time. Expect triple digit temperatures with high humidity at the same time. Don't know why that area seems to lock in the heat and humidity the way it does, but it's a fact. It's not from development as the foothills and lower part of the state are more developed.

All I can tell you is pace yourself and get ready.

Carolina Gold & Silver- doesn't deal in coins anymore, they used to have a lot of great coins, but now the coin part is run thru ebay via carolinacoin, I think out of Rock Hill.

L & L Sterling- I bought my first expensive coin, a 1916-d dime from there 25 years ago. The dealer is a nice guy and likes to talk coins. Not a whole lot of certified stuff, but you never know what you may find. There is stuff stacked everywhere, and no one knows for sure what is where, a fun place to look around. Last time I was there, he had a bunch of common date GSA cc's, and also an 1881-cc soft blue pack GSA.

Palmetto Galleries- he has a website, I would look there to see what he has. I know he has some real good stuff in the safe, but I haven't been there in years, so I can't say too much about it now.

Don't know about the other shops in Lexington, but not a far drive from Pomaria, just take I-26 to I-20 and you're in Lexington.

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
