    Nice coin!

Edit: I changed my mind, from MS64 to a solid MS65. I just looked up some pictures from Heritage and yours looks like a solid 65, but it's no 66.

    I don;t think that's a PCGSgrade.

If it was Hannukah gelt I'd accept it.image

Without knowing the specifics of the issue, I would venture very, very solid MS65, shot at 66

This is a VERY tough grade over MS64.....and the POPs are likely double the actual amount graded.

Too bad for those big dings. 64 was my first thought. Possible 65?

65 all day and the obverse may very well be strong enough to pull the grade to 66

Knowing how easily these things get "dinged" up i'll say an easy 65, and maybe on the cusp of a 66.

I don't know gold/saints, but I'll guess solid ms64, would have guessed higher, but those flea-body-part sized dings limit the grade in my morgan dollar collecting, own 2 pieces of gold in my whole colllection opinion.

This coin was raw a month ago. It slabbed MS65 first shot.

I grade it a MS66. I've seen 6 of the 8 MS65's and they are not even close to this one. Look at them in Heritage's archives and you.'ll see.

One lesson in large modern gold. These coins are heavy annd relatively soft. Just moving them in a sealed mint bag to a vault will cause tiny nicks. That is NOT the only criteria for grading Saiints. Ticks are allowed if the coin is GEM quality. The surfaces, skin, color and STRIKE is what matters equally as much. Don't be so critical of tiny hits. An MS67 can have them. It's the compilation of all the qualities that determines the grade.

Maybe this will grade MS66. That's a HUGE wall to get over. They just don't come nice enough and they are very tough on grading but IMO this one qualifies. There are only 2 66's.

Either way, it's as PQ as a 65 gets and will always be head and shoulders above the rest. That's good enough for me. Inasmuch as I'd love this coin in a 66 holder it will be a standout as a MS65 and get recognition for what it is, not whatthe label says. It will bring a 25-50% premium someday. But not anytime soon.

    I LOVE her. image

    MS64.

I am no expert by any means but her left arm looks a little weak plus minor ticks on the obverse along with that gouge.

The reverse has the same ticks.

MS65, possibly a 66 on a day when the graders are in a generous mood. Nice coin.

    Beautiful coin—I was thinking a PQ 65.

In the first image, it appeared that the strike was weak in the central part of the reverse. In the second image, the feather details are more defined and look fine.

This coin is a real 66. PCGS will never give it a 66 though because of their policy of protecting the top pops. It would have to be a real 67 to get a 66 grade.

    Doesn't matter, its beautiful!

You are 100% correct. To get an upgrade for a date like this the coin must be a SOLID 66.

I stiill think it may be. image

I like the other pics better over Mike's as now it looks like someone swapped the last digit in the date...

maybe removed a 7 and added the 4? imageimage

66.....and of comparable or better quality than what PCGS typically grades the 66 common dates in the series.
