Cullenbryant - I simply inquired early on just like the OP. I just got a different answer and now judging by Grandam's information, I consider myself very lucky I didn't mess up a number of collectors. Which brings me back to the Committee idea I mentioned before - that would solve the problem for everyone and provide the same information to all. I would love to see Griv on that Committee - I have no doubt he would share the information with everyone here in a very timely manner.

yeah, as a flipper, I don't feel bad for myself and I know the majority of the members here hate flippers more than Hillary Clinton or George H W Bush (you pick your poison). Business is business when it IS business and as I said before, life goes on, this is small stuff compared to family, friends, kids, ect...
Paragraphs are good; I suppose I chose to rant instead of making a coherent argument or a flowing literary work.
Going back to me whining because of something on an insert, that is correct. I explicitly called and asked about something they were providing. It turned out they did not provide it and did not inform me of the change after they had my money. I could go into analogies but what would be the gain from that?
I paid for 5 express, they offered 5 regular submissions. Where did 10 from?
Over the past 7 years or so since I started collecting coins and since I started selling on eBay, I have only returned about 3 orders, I don’t use the United States Mint as a 30 day credit company. Some members here might have noticed that I often sell items at below mint price and that is just what I do, even if I could technically still send it back to the mint. I have witnessed other sellers in a similar situation bid it up on an alt account to either get more $ or so they could send it back to the mint. With that said, I would not have purchased any of the celebration buffalo coins if PCGS had told me they were not offering a special designation for the coin. I am sure you read that when I submitted the 5 coins, PCGS was still saying they would offer a special designation.
Is all this whining or wondering what's going on, maybe both.
I don’t think PCGS is out to get me, and I am sure they have some of the finest people in the business on their side. I think I said I didn't know their situation.
The final thought for this forum, the devil is always in the details folks; don’t bash people when you have no idea who they are or their motivations/intentions. Just keep that in mind.
HEY!!! I like flippers. Why people hate them is a mystery. I think because they are jealous. If the flipper is a ripper then that's another story but there's been many a coin I was unable to make myself that a flipper didn't help me with.
The other thing here is that I agree with Mitch but the fact remains that this was on the web site and has caused some heartache for submitters for a lot of reasons. I can't say that I'm very happy about this. It just makes me feel that PCGS is less willing to listen to their customers, or maybe just the little guys.
This is what was posted on The PCGS WEB SITE before it was removed:
Celebration Series
Coins from the United States Mint Celebration Series are eligible to receive a "Celebration Coin" designation if they are sent to PCGS in original, sealed, mint packaging. This designation is added as a pedigree; no special insert will be given. All customers who request the return of original packaging are required to pay an additional $2/box return shipping charge.
Here is a link where this was previously discussed:
If I read that right, the coins were not ever being given a separate coin number then (or a FS designation either) - just a pedigree for $20/coin. From experience, coins without a separate coin number, but only a pedigree like that seldom trade for nearly any premium whatsoever (sure there are a couple exceptions of small added value, but generally very small).

I ran around getting them to the PO on the day of release only to have Pcgs change the guidance months
later.
Does anyone even get them First day'd anymore?

Oops - that was my mistake. IMHO, they should give you a credit for 5 Express submissions, NOT regulars.

Thank god he did not double space it as well.
