1998 Peyton Manning 1/1`s

Hi all

I have these 2 1998 Pinnacle Mint Gold 1/1`s of Peyton Manning. I`m really not up on football cards, i know their from his rookie year, but price wise i`m clueless.

I`m selling off some things from my collection and these 2 have been earmarked to go. Should i have them graded first ??

Any help or advice would be useful.

There is not much demand for Pinnacle cards. They went bankrupt in 1998 and their cards were never popular. Even this being a Manning rookie and a one of one I don't think you would get much for either.
  • Odds are those are not 1 of 1's. I have seen more than a handful of Seau's versions floating around the past few years.

They are real cards, however there were at least 3 of each made, and all of the cards made it to market with the bankruptcy auction.

The Mark Brunell collector has three of one of the cards, so there are at least that many.

Here is a Steve Young card, I can't seem to scan the foil front well.

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • I do know that there were 3 different cards of Peyton in this set #33, #66, #99.

    The 2 i have are #33 and #66

There was a basic set, a parallel silver set and a parallel 1/1 gold foil set. These are true 1/1 cards.

I have seen multiples of one of the Young cards from this set and going by the cards I have seen from other Pinnacle/Score sets, it is my belief they made three of the "1 of 1's." Pinnacle/Score made multiples of all it's 1 of 1's in case they needed to replace one or the like. They were never all meant to be released.

I would not get them graded as they would likely devalue them. Due to the foil face on the cards they likely will not grade high. Your cards will do fine ungraded as it is a P/C who will buy it.
