It seems lately that Teletrade and Heritage are setting the reserves a bit too high. Everything I wanted to bid on yesterday would have required a new auction high to win, and none of them were that special. They were all relativly available coins i the $300-500 range.
I don't know if it's sellers expecting the really high prices or the auction houses, but for the last six weeks or so I have only added to my British collection, nothing to my US.
I bought a San Diego comm. last night so I know at least one thing sold. How do you tell if the items sold or not if they don't belong you, if they belong to you do you put a buyback on them if they don't reach a certain level. Not sure how all of this works, thanks for any help.

I too was wondering if there was some sort of technical issue. If a coin on your watch list sells it will stay on there with a price realized given. If it doesn't sell, it disappears from the list. If it shows pending more than an hour after the auction ends thats a good sign that it likely didn't sell.
ok, I get it now. You use your watch list to see the final prices which means it sold. Is there any way to tell how many bids a coin has gotten so that I can tell if someone has bid on it or if it is still at the opening price without writting down all the prices that the coins started at.

I had 5 items on my watch list, couple of franklins which were mediocre, a gold 2 1/2 Sesqui, and a few other seated coins, all vanished from my watch list this morning, meaning of course none sold. None were intersting enuf for me to actually buy, but I did see the bids rise over the course of the evening so I guess there were a few bidders on these coins...

No, there is no way of telling how many bids a coin gets without watching it. Also opening bids on TT are never at the buyback price, they always start off lower so there is always some movement from the opening price. The only case where this is not true is if there is no buyback and that is so rare on TT that they are snatched up quickly. At least with coins that I am interested in, I've only seen it happen 4 or 5 times.
I had a consignment of 12 lots in that sale and a few lots sold for decent prices while a few others should have realized a higher amount. Eventually it all balances out.

Teletrade is having a tech issue, I see certain items Realized on some pages, also in my consignment section I had both of my items sold. I hope this helps. Main pages have issues right now.
I haven't figured this site out yet, but it smells fishy to me as I won a coin last night but again at my max bid, so I always feel like I'm buying the coin not bidding!
It's always at my exact maximum bid and I can't see any other bidders!

I have had that happen to me numerous times. It is almost as if they lowered a reserve to my max bid. But who knows?

Until Teletrade shows people who bids, you will continue to pay your max bid because Teletrade makes more profit that way. I don't know if this is true but it happens to me all the time when I bid and when pay.

I have won on TT at lower than my max bid many times. Stack's and SGBH via internet, well...that's a different story.
On most Teletrade auctions the individual sellers set the reserves (as a buyback price), at the latest two hours before the auction starts (if they follow the rules). My 1 auction I cosigned sold last night.
Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits.
I will NEVER sell on TT. All these threads make eBay look very attractive and legit. Beach about ebAy all you want but at least I trust them for legit auctions w/o shady side deals or questionable reserves.

I didn't bid on either of them but they didn't sell. Maybe they did but back to the owner.

Lately, I have found fewer and fewer items to watch on TT. Those that are worth watching don't seem to sell.

A final price doesn't necessarily mean it actually sold.

Superior Galleries -- I've won there via internet bids but always at my top bid...just doesn't seem right for the lots and bid amount I have entered.
