Guess the grade..Grade posted

I just received the coin today and this is my second attempt at imaging through a holder so I hope they are good enough.
Coin does have some schmutz on it, should I crack it and try to remove the crud?

    I thought we might have an ACG or a rattler. Since you have the word grade in parenthesis, I was leaning towards ACG. However, you did not say it was third party graded, so I guess this could be in a generic plastic holder where the seller has assigned a grade. Looks AU-55 to me, but I really have to check these under loupe or microscope for rub, could be higher. I like it how it is & would not try to remove "schmutz".

    I'm embarressed to say that I DO have a coin in an ACG holder.........I would never post the darn thing at the grade they gave it.

    62 RB, guessing on the color, hard to tell from the pic. I wouldn't crack it if it is in an NGC or PCGS slab. If you think it will up grade, then have it professionally cleaned before regrade.

    I would probably crack it and 'conserve' it, but I'm not telling you to. Depends on your intentions, and if you are purist for wholly original coins, like this one, or if you're like me, who prefers glossy copper with no green stuff on it.

    The "stuff" on the obverse at the top really bugs me AU58, the other crud ain't that bad.

    What would you do?

    I would say you got your 2 cents worth image

    high end of AU-55 or low end of AU-58

    Best looking XF 45 in existance. Coin's easily an AU 58.

    Sorry but while some opinions are better than others, a grade of 45 for this coin really is inappropriate... and just wrong to the point that it is laughable
