Good place to sell silver eagles etc?

tizofthetizofthe Posts: 1,361 ✭✭✭
I have fallen on very hard times and need to sell all my silver. I have a little gold left (buffalos etc) but will hold those till the very end in case my finances turn around. This is diffcult for me to do as it is my 50th birday today and I started collecting 11 years ago. Enough of the rambling. What I am looking for is a place to get the best deal on my silver eagles, maples and englehardt, johnson Math 1oz bars. I also have proof 2004 03 kennedys along with 1964 kennedys and other ngc common date peace, onzas and the list goes on. Right now I am selling approx 100oz worth of differnet types of silver from the aobve. Any help would be appreciated on a selling place except for ebay. Cant lose the extra money they want.
Thanks in advance

I'm sure that if you come up with some pricing that you may have a better chance of selling them in the BST forum.

Call Steve, at Renton Coin Shop, during the week, tell him what you have and ask him what he can do.
I've found him to be pretty fair.

Else, take inventory and place a big sell price on the BST with them listed. If no toning/high grade, then state as such and go for bullion-bullion+ (for the SAE, maples, and other bars). There are plenty that are still after silver.

There is also the PNNA show in Tukwila next weekend. You may find a dealer there to give you a price you are fine with. That is one of the 2 largest shows (other being the Boeing show that already occurred this year) in our area.

For some items, like some you mentioned, super photos not really needed, imho, but if you took a "group" photo, it would be cool. (if you need help in posting a photo like that, just ask....I'll help ya).

Sorry that you are in this state of affairs currently and hope things work out. One small plus side....silver is still up, most likely, from when you bought a lot of the bullion, and that is much better than if it were in a downstate.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I've sold two groups of circulated silver on the BST board. Very happy with the transactions and no ebay or paypal fees.

  • Sorry to hear about your plight. I have fallen on hard times also and my coin collecting days are over for now, what a bummer cause I enjoyed it so much. I hope things turn around for you, good luck.

Looking on the bright side one can at least be thankful he has the tangible assests to sell instead of racking up credit card or other debt and that the current price of silver is fairly high.

Good point! One of the great reasons to collect. If all goes wrong, you have a physical commodity to sell, no paper! Agreed with the BST. Just keep bumping it up so people see it. Don't be concerned with some folks telling you you're bumping too much. image You have a good reason. Best of luck.

If the money hadn't gone into coins it probably would have been pissed away on something that is long gone or something that might be difficult or impractical to sell.
