1888 O Morgan VAM question

MeltdownMeltdown Posts: 8,983 ✭✭✭✭✭
I cannot find anything on Vamworld that mentions a reverse clash under the eagles' beak of Liberty's hair curls. It looks like two raised curves coming out of the underside of the eagle's chin/beak. Pics to come when I get a chance, but this one's probably pretty obvious to those who know. Thanks in advance.

Unless there are letter transfers, then a die clash usually does not get classified as a separate VAM number. VAM 1B (Scarface) has some clashing going on. Check to see if you have one of those.

I agree with the neck clash sounding like a 1B.

While we are on the subject. Does anyone know if there is a VAM for 1888 O that has a single vee clash next to the wreath? Saw a photo of one and I have read every 1888 O description and cant find any mention of a vee clash in a 1888 O VAM.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

(edited to add that I am referring below to the subrequest above not the OP)
The clash by the wreath is the back of the hair by the ribbon, is extremely common as clashes go, and is not generally listed at all. The one you might be referring to for 1888-O could be VAM-1C. Look at the neck clash up from the right wing edge (viewer's left). If it pierces the lower right serif og the n of In, passing through it to the right of the upright, it is likely VAM-1C.

The neck clashes are also not usually cited in the variety descriptons, being common (though not as much as the aforementioned ones) and not involving letter transfer.

That's the clash. Thanks everyone. It appears this is an early die state of a vam 1b... no scar on the face, but the tiniest appearance of a break from the denticle to the dot.
