Coins and television shows

Sometimes you see a coin on a TV show and it gets interesting, sometimes you see something and it looks out of place.

For instance, I was watching a Wild, Wild West one time and a Seated silver dollar shown in one scene magically turned into a Morgan in the next.
Now that was really a magic silver dollar for Wild, Wild West had to do with two Secret Service agents that report to President Grant (1869 - 1877)

I just saw another one on Wild, Wild West. They rode their horses up to the United States Mint in Denver, Colorado. To trace a counterfeit currency operation no less.

I guess they didn't have a great historian did they?

Anyone else have any obvious TV show mistakes when coins or currency comes into play?

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

No mistakes, but I am a fan of old game shows on the Game Show Network. I have seen the 1970's 'Let's Make A Deal' offer a 1907 HR Saint and a 1882 $3 (both 'Gem BU') as prizes. Both were from Bowers and Ruddy galleries.

How about Monty Hall waving $500 and $1000 bills around almost every episiode. On one episode his side kick Jay came down the isle holding an old curency flip that had a $5000 bill in it....how's that for pocket money!!!!!

Glad you started this thread again. I was meaning to post a show I saw the other day.

I've never watched 'Bones' before on FOX until the other night. The episode involved
someone who had passed away and they were trying to solve the mystery based on
what was in his pockets, etc. I wasn't paying too much attention but he had a pocketful
    of old coins.

At one point they were talking about a 1943 penny. The characters all thought it was
worthless, but it was BRONZE image

I just love the way they toss gold around in all the
TV shows and movies. It's a good laugh when they
have a quarter million in gold in the saddlebags!

Even Twilight Zone had Oscar Berigi as a weight lifter
and his partner in crime as a strong man.
