New Purchase: 1882 2-Sided Blue Rim-Toned Morgan Dollar

StuartStuart Posts: 9,831 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here's a new 1882 NGC-64 2-Sided Blue Rim-Toned Morgan Dollar that I recently purchased based upon the scanned images (lower) because I felt that the coin would likely look better as demonstrated by the digital photographs that I took (upper) after receiving the coin.

Wow, I like that! Royal blue blending to peach is great (at least that's what I see).

Your pictures bring out the colors very well.

Scanners have very limited capability in picking up luster and toning on coins.

Nice blue rim toning on this one.

It looks like a different coin with the scanned images.

    Nice pick, Stuart image

Wow- what an enormous difference. Pardon a naive question, but how can you tell if an image is scanned vs. photographed when looking at coin pictures?

I've purchased from Atocha and the coins ALL looked better in hand than in their pics.

Neat toning- Are the toning breaks in the obverse fields (by the lower hair and neck) fingerprints?
