2008 Monroe dollar--Die crack or break

Is this a Die crack or a break..Found a few in a new roll i just got today and they are all the same way.

Its difficult to say with that picture but I would say die crack.

Usually die cracks stem from the edge of a coin whereas a die break occurs somewhere in the field.

It's too tough to tell without seeing a clear picture of the whole coin.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've got a few Philly Monroe's with the chin die crack.

It does not appear to run from the rim only on the chin.I see someone else found the chin crack,would they have a pictuire of theirs to compare to.Thanks

I picked up a roll in the Denver area and the Denver mintage also has "chin" die cracks.
If you look closely you may see similar cracks on the lips, eye lashes, collar, etc.

I did find some like that in my philly rolls, except the crack on the chin looks more like a cracked planchet. Or maybe the layering has split and I see what looks like a small grand canyon on his chin. Correct me if I am wrong but when the die is broken metal left on the coin would be raised a little, but on a cracked planchet the coin would be seperated a little? When I get a good pic I will put it on here for your advice. I will try to post a pic from work tomorrow of what I believe is a planchet crack on his chin, and lightning bolt cracks all around the field on the front and reverse of a coin also. Philly Monroes roll I just looked through had a die break on the chin on about half the roll. They have raised bumps along the crack in the same location on the chin and above the eyebrow on some of them.

If there is a crack and raised bumps, then the metal seeped through the crack. Does that then make it a die break?
