<< <i>If you like high grades and BU coins then watch for those with nice clean shields at the top. Watch for '80-D issues without a shallow scrape on one side or both. Keep your eyes open for the PL's. They are nearly "common" for some dates like the '70-D. >>

What do you mean by sheilds and what does PL mean? >>

    The shield is circled!!

Term to designate a coin that has mirror-like surfaces, the term especially applicable to Morgan dollars. Those Morgan dollars that meet PCGS prooflike standards are designated PL.

I am the last person to ask about that.. I have only ever found one error and that was nearly 30 years ago. Some people find lots, more rolls and bags you can look through that better your chances.

This is one way to get them!
  • Also I would like to know what colors Kennedy's tone. Does the 90 percent silver tone any different from the 40 percent and clad specimens? Another thing I was wondering about is does American Silver Eagles have any die varieties? Thanks so much for your help.

Here is an ANACs graded 64 DDO toned on the reverse, I am sure they tone in a lot of different ways, let me suggest looking for PCGS and NGC certfied ones with color to get an idea how the tone naturally, and then you still have to be careful.
