Something interesting for you sellers with a lot of repeat customers.

RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
Part of the eBay feedback change that I didn't notice, and haven't seen discussed:

<< <i>What's more – coming in May, we will provide credit for ALL repeat transactions that occurred between 1996 and February 2008. >>

That amounts to a rather sizable jump in the lifetime number for most active sellers.

What was that reported on another thread where long time sellers were losing feedback?

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I knew they were going to allow 1 feedback to count each week from repeat buyers but not that it was retroactive.

    Interesting... thanks Russ.

Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.

  • Does this apply to the buyers as well and their feedback?

Shoot, first they take away 2K of feedback from me and now they are going to give it back and make it count?

    No. Why should it?

In fact, it could be very useful data to have. I bought a bunch of gold coins on eBay in the 2001-2002 timeframe, and, while I kept records on some of them, I didn't for all of them. It might be nice to go back and see the details of the auction where I got the 1909 $5 Indian for $170, which came back from PCGS as an MS63.

No more concerned than I am about the giant databases that contain marketing profiles and buying habits on every person who's ever used a credit card, a debit card, a grocery store discount card, filled out a survey, rented a car, taken an airplane flight, or basically just is alive in the modern world.

    It's true. Here's the announcement:

I'll also get a different colored star.

No. What does bother me is that my credit card company, to verify my identity when I requested a new card, asked me my height, weight, eye color, hair color, and car's license plate number (they pulled all that info from the DMV database).

"Yes, I'd like a replacement credit card."

eFanatasy bidding but still cool. Russ is always about someone's limits espeially when he can take a quick profit. Good stear Russ, thanks for your very limited input. Why don't you show fans how to make a quick buck here.

Russ, I see you don't seem to have a handle on it but won't share. Okay then let me be the one to share. I know Russ to be a total putz. Every post I have seen seems to be from his children's point of view. His knowlege of moden/bullion coins is laughable but even his stupid comments about classic indicate a useless dinosaur grader. There's always a place for you sat IDG. image

No, I don't think he can.
He whines when someone posts about him and yet, he follows such a negative path that anyone could start a thread about his negative postings and it would be like throwing a rock from the inside of a barn....you just can't miss.

Russ knows his moderns, and knows a bit of the classics. He also admits where he is learning. He doesn't play the "bullion-new mint product game".....is that why you are coming down on him, griv? Because he doesn't play in your sandbox and it makes you feel like a big man to belittle someone else?

Sorry griv, but you consistently prove you are pathetic.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Only if you're paranoid.
  • I'd be happy to see the jump....I was never comfortable with the fact that I only got credit for like half of my overall transactions....then when you consider all of the successful transactions where folks left no feedback it would potentially triple even though we won't get those. It makes for a more accurate profile in my opinion.... image

I agree Russ doesn't know moderns...I am sure he hasen't sold a 2008 dated coin yet image
  • Right now, I would just like my 498 Feedback to show up on BIN Search results only, instead of showing "0"

    EBay admitted the problem
