Does anyone know how many coin auctions the Chapman brothers ran when they were a team?

  • There were 83 different auctions conducted by SH & H Chapman between 1879 and 1906, 16 of which contained photographic illustrations. Not all of these sales were coin sales. There were several stamp sales and even a mineral sale.

Henry Chapman conducted 51 auctions from 1906 to 1932, 14 of which contained photographic illustrations.

Samuel Hudson conducted 28 auctions from 1907 to 1924, 16 of which contained photographic illustrations.

They were the first life long coin dealers in the United States.

Every numismatic reference library should have as many as possible Chapman sales included.
