Sorry, no moose here, but if you get the permit, isn't it really expensive? I was under the impression of many thousands of dollars.

Oh man I am so glad I saw this, I totally forgot. Id like to try for a permit near baxter state park this year, or up near carribou or moosehead lake image

I have applied many many times and never recieved one, but non resident permits are tuff. I must admit however, its never stopped us from getting a moose.

heres one I hear of, but have never seen, the great albino image

Our group was nearly attacked by a moose while snowmobiling in northern Idaho last weekend. The snow is 12 feet deep and they like to walk on the groomed snowmobile runs.

I mentioned on the way up that I'd never seen a moose in person before. I also mentioned after that happened that from now on, photos of moose are fine.
MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

OK - you asked for it. Here was my first one, circa 1976 or so. My buddy and I camped the night by a lake and when we awoke, there were 7 bull moose scattered around the periphery of the lake. We popped the closest two - small but tasty. image

Notice the cool belt - back in style currently. I still have it. image
