O.k. I need a president coin expert or enthusiast that I can send two coins to and have you examine- One I want assessed if it has a die crack or post mint damage on the elbow on the reverse and then I have one that is still reflective but has much less lustre than the rest- Is is mildly darker in appearance- more obvious on the reverse- But I want to send the coins to someone and let them examine them- If they are something interesting then give them back and I will compensate for time and energy or if they are nothing then I will just let you keep them...

I know this is weird- I am not a prez dollar fan and basically just roll search them occasionally- I am a half dollar/buillon collector

If you can help let me know. If you think this is stupid tell me that also- I know you all want pictures but it is pretty hard to capture a decent digital image with my canon... I will be buying the microscope/camera soon.

If I can suggest to give it your best shot at a picture.
If there is a die crack it usually doesn't add much value and the other sounds as if it may be sintered or improperly annealed planchet with is worth more than a die crack.

Try to get a good scan. Do you have a Kinkos nearby?

I love the coins, but I am terrible at diagnosing what the actual error or variety would be.

Good one. I'll have to remember that the next time I'm out of town for a while and want to image a coin.

The die crack probably $1, the darker one probably $20 if it is a sintered coin. Just look on ebay and you will see what sintered coins look like for the presidential dollars. The darker the better.
