  There are a bunch of repunched dates know for the 1892. So it's possible that you do have one there.
  I can't tell if this is one of them or which one it is.

  It's a die chip, not a cud. A cud is a die break that involves the rim and at least a little bit of the field (or in this case, it would be the denticles).
