EBAY/Paypal ECHECK HELP?

Where do you request a Paypal Echeck? I don't see it? I had an auction just end for $1789.00. I stated in Seller Payment instructions that I do not accept PAYPAL, He said he did not see that and that he don't send payment through mail.??should Iaccept PAYPAL ECHECK and then I will save on fees?? Do I request echeck or does customer have to?

It isn't possible to request an eCheck through the system. You can eMail the bidder and ask, but if they refuse there's nothing you can do about it.

You will not save on fees. You will be bil;led for 3% PayPal fees but you will be paid faster.

You will nee to set up a PayPal account to receive PayPal Payments

If he receives payment by eCheck, he will save huge on the fees. Max is only $5.00.

Your buyer agreed to your terms when he entered his bid. Just because he didn't read those terms doesn't make it OK. He may have stated what he did because he doesn't have the cash, and won't be able to do an E-check anyway. You may offer to accept e-check, or suggest a check off his credit card account. His "I don't pay through the mail" just doesn't have any logic to it, how does he expect to receive his item?

I completely agree. I would hold him to the terms of the auction. You may suggest a money order if he is concerned on the turn around time of waiting for his check to clear. If you want to go through paypal that is your option. But he should feel obligated to the terms of the auction.

I'm writing in the hopes thatwork out a sloution to not taking paypal. When I read your listing I did not read the payment info on the bottom (I know my bad) BUt the reason why is because your listing still had the paypal logo and said paypal accepted so It did'nt occur to me to read further. I do not send money through the mail so this presents a problem. I am sure you took into account not having paypal fees when you accepted my offer so I apologise about that but I must ask you to reconsider as I have no other way to pay you. Sorry for the inconvenience

I don't see a problem, just tell him echeck is fine, clears in around 4 days or so and you save bigtime on fees....all buyer has to do is make that his payment choice...

The bottom of your auction states that Paypal is accepted, you should take PP for the item. Just ask if he will do an E-Check.

Judging by the eMail the buyer sent, I think he is being quite reasonable. If you did not want to accept PayPal, you should have removed that option from the auction.

eBay makes all new sellers registered after 2006 to accept PayPal for payment. It against eBay policy to change the acceptable payment methods outlined in the listing. What you can do is set up a personal PayPal account, that way he would only be able to send payment through a bank account debit and you would incur no fees. However, I do believe there is a limit to the amounts you can receive monthly.

I can't remove that paypal accepted item. When a "power seller" you must "accept" paypal.

Buff is right, but with "personal" it is a 2000 a monh limit, I think.

I'm pretty sure the cap is $500, so this single transaction would exceed it.

That's not why you have to accept it. It's because, as FLBuffaloHunter noted, you joined eBay after they began requiring new sellers to offer it.

Nope, receiving limit is $500. It's moot anyway because if you accept PayPal you must accept all forms and personal accounts cannot receive credit card payments.

The $500 limit DOES NOT APPLY to cash advance payments but only to goods or services or auction items. Since your PP transaction will likely link to an eBay listing yer screwed.

Read the PP rules.. A "E" check only means that the customer HAS NOT guaranteed his account withdrawl with a credit card backup.

Also the customer CAN "after delivery" refuse the withdraw from his account with his bank merely just by filling out a simple form at his bank..The funds will be snagged from your account and returned to his. It will take a month of fooling around and maybe a small claims affadavit to get your money back.. If at all.

Best bet is to build a singular account with your bank just for PayPal deposits and after money is deposited just transfer to your normal account.. Ya cant chargeback a account that has no funds.!!! If a customer gives you any grief he cannot attach your personal accounts.
It's not as complicated as it sounds.

Even with PayPal you need the auction body to state something like " Items shipped upon receipt of good funds"

The term being "E" screwed wouldn't be said if it didn't happen from time to time. E=Electronically

I would compromise and offer the buyer free shipping if they pay with E-Check, and protect yourself like Onefinecoin said above.
