Seemed like a good deal, but can't find prices.

I won this Ebay auction 300200434128 and I can't seem to find the prices for the NGC Morgans. I originally got the auction for the 1884 CC, but it is very lack-luster. The NGC graded coins looked horrible in the scans, but are very nice mirror like coins with the toning on the rims being partial rainbows. They appear to be older NGC holders that are very fat.

I can't find any previous auctions for these dates with the DPL designator on Ebay or Heritage that would suggest what I should sell them at, I decided not to keep the PCGS 1884-CC and sold it to a co-worker for $160 as it didn't look good in my type set.

Should I just list them at .99 cents on Ebay, or I was thinking about putting them on the BST, but have not ever listed anything there.

Thanks for the help.

  • I just sold off a lot of raw morgans on ebay, and they did pretty well. Looks like you only have 30 bucks each in these, I think your 99 cent listing idea is a good one. I am sure you will hear a lot of ppl say BST, and that may be a way to go, but I don't know what to tell you as far as a fair price. With ebay, that isn't an issue. Good luck

You did well thats for sure if you've already gotten rid of the CC for $160. I cant see anyway that you'd loose money if you sell the other three at .99 no reserve.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

  • Someone sent me a message that the auction wasn't coming up right and wanted the dates of the NGC coins. Here they are:

    1882 S MS64 DPL
    1891 S MS63 DPL
    1901 O MS63 DPL

  • Holy crap, thats like the deal of the month? What was that seller thinking?

Do you have them in hand? I would have been very wary of 4 coins for a third of their real value, especially from a seller that has not bought/sold anything in 15 months.

Sorry I am not familiar with DPL, is that the equivalent of DMPL?

If you list them on e-bay you might add the more familiar DMPL to the title. You should do well starting at .99 cents.
  • Yes I have them in hand, and the scans of the coins are awful. In person the rim toing is rainbowish and looks very nice. They said they sell rare coins in there auction listing. The featured coin of the lot, was the PCGS 1884 CC, it was a marginal coin and I didn't like it, the other coins in the older NGC holders I didn't really care about until I got them and saw how nice they were. I talked with the seller after I bought them and he said he probably underpriced them, but he shipped them out last Saturday, and I got them on Monday.
  • I am not sure if DMPL is the same as DPL, I have not seen any NGC DMPL's

DPL is NGC's way of saying DMPL.

  • I have not been able to find any history for even PCGS DMPL coins of the same dates. I have about $33 bucks after shipping, invested in each coin. I will list them starting at 99 cents on ebay in the future. Thanks

  • I wish I could supply Pics, as the scans from the auction are crap. I had no idea they were worth so much, I received a couple offers from PM's now and probably will end up more then tripling my money if I go that route.
