  Authentic, possibly struck through scrap.

  It's a minor lamination, and worth
  whatever someone is willing to pay
  for it.
  
  My suggestion is for you to put it up on Ebay -
  that's the best (and about the only) venue
  for these types of common laminations/struck-thru's......

  Is this worth enough of a premium to have PCGS authenticate the lamination? I would think that it could bring more on e-bay this way.

  It will not fetch anywhere near the cost of the submission fees... maybe only enough to cover a portion of the shipping charges to PCGS.

  Coins that appear such as this are difficult to tell if they are laminations or strike-throughs. In either case, they command a very small premium.

  I pay $10 bucks to throw it in my jefferson error book, WHICH happens to be getting nowhere, as the inaugral coin (71 double clip) was sent out to the error gods for research. The dansco seems so lonely
