Now my heart says the HALOS will win 162 regular season games on the way to a World Series victory

Red Sox go back to back. Dice K will be better, and the kids will step up in the 4/5 spots in the rotation. Detroit and Cleveland will pose a real stiff challenge, though.

Regardless, I am looking forward to the Yankees being on the outside looking in come October though!!!

    The Padresimage

Jake Peavy wins another Cy Young Award, Chris Young finishes a close second in the voting, with Mark Prior coming back to win 18 games. Add Greg Maddux winning another 16, and Adrian Gonzalez hitting 37 homers, the Padres beat the Angels in an all-SoCal World Seriesimage

    OK, I know it's a dream.....please don't wake me up!image

I think it will be the Tigers. They are the team to beat this year. Of course I hope its the Yanks that win with their new skipper.

I like Boston over Philadelphia in the WS. I was born and raised in Boston, so I'm biased, but I really think Beckett and Dice K will have huge years. Ellsbury is as good as ROY right now and their #5 starter threw a no hitter as a 22 year old last year. What's not to like? Philly is absolutely loaded, especially in the weak NL. Getting blown out by COL last year will only make them hungrier and experienced. You have to like the Wild Card coming out of the East between the Mets and Phils - but watch out for a pesky FLA team. There are some REALLY good young guys on that team. They're 1-2 years away but will surprise and finish .500.

New York (either team) or Boston, of course. This is what we get in a sport without a salary cap. Unlike the NFL, about 6 or 8 teams have chance, and every other city's team is reduced to being a minor league affiliate waiting for one of the big boys to nab their best players.

The teams that have a chance:

    Yankees
    Mets
    Red Sox
    Tigers
    Angels
    Braves
    Dodgers
    Padres

The teams that would need everything to break right to have a chance:

    Rockies
    D-Backs
    Cubs
    Indians

  • You are all wrong!!!!!! This is the year of the ROYALS
  • The Red Sox unless the Tigers pull it off which they are capable of doing.

In a way though I would almost like the Yankees to win it at home(Did I just say that??). What a way to close Yankee Stadium.

  • << <i>Phil Ivey. >>

    David Williams is due..
  • I'll be rooting for the Tigers, but I have to say that the Red Sox are likely to be the team that will win it all. They were very tough last yr.
  • As long as the Yankees are on the golf course come October I will be happy!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coming from a Red Sox fan , that is really a nice thing to say .
Now that is a fan of the game of baseball .

However , I don't think the Yanks will win it this year, I really think they picked the wrong guy as coach .

I would have liked to see Donny baseball as head coach , I also wish Torre was still in NY , but as the old saying goes , you can't aways get what you want .

Personally I think we have a clown of a coach .
  • If you mention anyone but the Tigers you are on the crack rock.

This is the sort of hatred for the Yankees that I love!!! I love people like this to wiggle in pain, curse at the TV, and cry when they win!! I just hope they dont beat their wife or kids in a drunken rage when the Yanks win cuz that wouldnt be right.
  • THE BREW CREW BABY!!!! ROTY Braun? Powerhouse Prince Fielder? Supreme depth at pitcher including a young rising star in Yovanni Gallardo? I think it's a no brainer (or I've just been waiting too freakin' long for another WS appearance). Either way.
