Book Wanted

Does anyone have a copy of "Walter Breens Complete Encyclopedia Of U.S. And Colonial Coins"
That they are willing to sell.
My copy was stolen and I would like to replace it.

Thanks

Bob

Search on the BST, it think someone may have had one or at least you can see who the booksellers are and contact them.

The last one I saw on Ebay went for like 285.00 with the shipping.
I was hoping to pay a more reasonable price if I could.

I'm willing to go around 200.00 including shipping if the book is in mint condition.

  • Bob -

Books are like coins...the market goes up, and it goes down.

With the Breen Encyclopedia being out of print once again, the prices have risen substantially. The prices on ebay are among the most accurate right now, as the literature dealers are out of stock. Doubleday won't reprint this again from what I have heard.

You can probably get a copy for your price of $200, however, wanting a mint copy, including shipping, for that price at this point in time, is like wanting to buy silver bullion for under $14 an ounce. It is doubtful that you will ever get one unless they do get reprinted again in the future (don't hold your breath).

Remember also that these tend to "come apart" with any regular use. "Mint" copies are scarce nowadays, especially the ones actually for sale.

    Good luck with the search.

It'll be tough to get it at $200 shipped but not impossible. I got mine a few months ago at $150 shipped still in the wrapping!
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!
