That's funny, I've got the 1976 edition of the Redbook on my library shelf. It's was a gift from my parents when I was 10 years old.

Where do you keep them???......11k books???? That's a bunch!!!! image
  • You keep 11K books, catalogues, fixed price lists, and periodicals in covered boxes so you don't have to remember what they are....at least I keep my 11K stored that way in storage sheds. That's because there's absolutely no more room in the house.

Fortunately, the older catalogues (pre-1940) are much thinner and you can usually store an entire run of cataloguers in one or two large plastic bags. Naturally, the special ones (Plated, Priced & Named, Bidbooks, etc.) are stored in individual plastic bags and boards.

At least I don't save the mailing envelopes like other bibliophiiles I know who reside in Ill. and Cal.

Anyone have any small format plated Chapman's available? PM if you do.
PM me if you are looking for U.S. auction catalogs

Very nice collection both of you.

Mine is somewhat smaller. I will try to get a pic tonight.

Mostly gold books, counterfeit detection book and some good ones like snows flying eagle book.

edited, I used to have a floor to ceiling book case full of auction catalogs. I recycled all of them. Just too much to think about.

<< <i>This is the main section. I did not include pics of the mountains of auction catalogs. What does yours look like? As you can see, there is a preference for QDB material:

And to ward off Consuela, I am blowing this up to 11x17 and posting copies throughout the house image

In my house I have 8 7-8 foot bookcases, my home office is full, my attic is full, and 2 rooms at my office are full. And I'm starting to trade instead of just buying. And yes I know I shouldn't put them in the attic, but if I get divorced I won't be able to afford any more books (or coins).image
